Space!… Our Carnival theme. Clouds, planets, rain and much more were our costumes. Pulcinella and Corallina came to school and wanted to play with us. Together with them, we played balance and coordination games, transforming ourselves into skilled transporters of delicious pizzas.

Libriamoci 2019
As each year, the primary school and kindergarten participated to Libriamoci. Reading days in schools. Two of the proposed themes by Libriamoci were chosen: “We will save the world” and “Gianni Rodari: the wordsˊ game, between sounds and colors”. The activities involved the whole school and our guest was Buket Kasalı, academic coordinator of the Italian Language Department at the Ekonomi University of Izmir, with whom we built puppets using waste material. We had a small show with the puppets, using our little “Ecological Theater”.
Earth, a planet to love
The Earth is the wonderful planet in which we are living. For the global week dedicated to climate changes, we recreated the contaminated earth and water that we wish not to see anymore.
International Day 2019
We participated to the international event held in NATO base of Izmir. In the photograph, together with us, the Italian Consul of Izmir Valerio Giorgio and Cinzia Braggiotti representative of the Arkas Education and Cultural Foundation.

A new school year is going to start and we are very excited and willing to do many things. During the opening day the Italian Consul of Izmir Valerio Giorgio and Cinzia Braggiotti from Arkas Education and Cultural Foundation came to visit us.
Last day of school 2018/2019
It was a productive year, we have been working so hard and we could not wait this moment to come: we finally received our report cards! The Italian Consul of İzmir Valerio Giorgio and the President of the Arkas Education and Cultural Foundation, Lucien Arkas, was with us for this joyful day.

Me too
We have set up an exhibition with our students’ drawings at the Italian Cultural Center to celebrate the Children’s Day. “Me too” was an opportunity to share art, cheerfulness and fun. We dedicated it to the children, to remember that their rights should be always respected.
Grass head
Thanks to HAMİ project, we invited our friends from “Kahramanlar Mustafa Öğütveren Elementary School” to play in our garden. Each of us has created his own
“Grass head”. We just have to wait and see which one will have the longest hair.
Pantomime... One more opportunity to be together
On March 27th, in the occasion of the World Theater Day, we have organized a pantomime show that was very, very funny. There were also some of our friends, who were so much involved in the show and enjoyed it a lot.
Il Maggio dei Libri 2019
This year, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary that mankind landed to the moon, we decided to talk with the satellite of our beloved Earth: the Moon! “When the moon was me” by Luigi Garlando guided us to our stellar journey at the NATO base in Smyrna, we began reading with Lieutenant Colonel Tafuri Michele, sitting on a “galactic” throne prepared by us for this occasion. We wanted to be noticed: we wore space suits.

One of the subject of this year was the deforestation: cutting down trees can be very dangerous because it can cause landslides. After watching a cartoon we planted small trees.
International puppet’s day 2019
“The House of Small Cubes” really impressed us! We could not miss this exciting experience in which shadows, puppets, theatrical objects and different techniques were used together.

Carnival is much funnier when celebrated all together. This year new friends came to visit us, and it was great playing together, wearing masks and dancing.
Libriamoci 2018
Also this year the primary school and kindergarten attended Libriamoci. Reading days in schools, the campaign of the Center for books and reading born from an agreement between the Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
Leonardo da Vinci, our special guest, was with us from October the 22nd to 24th, showing us his works and how extraordinary he was. Our parents joined us and our special reader was the Italian Consul of Izmir, Dr. Luigi Iannuzzi, who read us some really interesting subjects and we built together a small parachute. It has been an unforgettable experience.
ItaliAmo
On the occasion of the 18th edition of the Italian Language Week in the World we organized an event for making our families more familiar with the Italian language. The Italian Consul of İzmir, Dr. Luigi Iannuzzi, and the President of the COM.IT.ES of Izmir Maria Elisa Sponza were with us. We had the chance to present ItaliAmo, an application for learning Italian, while the children enjoyed some interactive games.
İzmir Fransız Kültür Merkezi – 1001 NIGHTS from Julien Salaud
On the occasion of the “1001 nights” exhibition at the Arkas Sanat Merkezi, the artist Julien Salaud installed his art at the İzmir Fransız Kültür Merkezi based on the same theme. He composed the human figures with several kilometers of wire and thousands of nails. Everything was shining in the dark room. We were amazed!

Eat a little of everything... this is the secret
Eating healthy is important for living well! For this reason, we went shopping with our teachers, who taught us to identify the products on the shelves, to check the expiry date and to notice the discount.

Il Maggio dei Libri 2018
We never get tired of reading! We decided to join the Italian National Campaign for improving reading as an element of personal and collective growth. “Il Maggio dei Libri” is an initiative promoted by MiBACT. We read our book in a beautiful atmosphere outside the school at Kültür Park with Maria Elisa Sponza, President of Smirne Com.it.es.

Ege Orman Vakfı in our school
Ege Orman Vakfı taught us the importance of forest and trees through a nice Power Point presentation. Then, we planted in our pots pine tree seeds. We are looking forward to see them grow up.
İzmir Fransız Kültür Merkezi – "Micro-Folie/Digital Museum"
At the French Culture Center we immersed in art: thanks to the multimedia experience we analyzed some paintings and then reconstructed them as puzzle.
Libriamoci
Elementary school students have participated to “Libriamoci. Reading days in schools”, an initiative approach to reading asked by the Italian Ministry of Education and various Italian cultural associations. Students have participated to this activity between the 23rd of October and 26th of October 2017. Readings were held by parents and volunteer readers, including Dr. Lia Lodovici Kars, director of the Association of Italian Friendship in Izmir.
Izmir Opera House - "Magic World"
The İzmir Opera House has fascinated us with its architecture. We were immersed in polyphonic music, into the colors and dance. It seemed to be in a fairy tale.

We had fun with jokes and riddles! All of us had worn colorful costumes.

Our attention was on the puppets and the show was really fun.
Landscapes of water from the Arkas collection
We admired and analysed the sea in different paintings. It’s interesting noticing how the artists’ talent, using different colours and techniques can create many interpretations of water. We also enjoyed producing our own works with different artistic techniques.

We admired the light used by the painters art work in the exposition. We were impressed to see the beautiful illustrations of the light and shadow used by painters. They are real masters!

We have celebrated the carnival with traditional music and dessert. We prepared our own masks at school. We had fun playing ‘’Pignatta’’.
Arkas Maritime History Center
We discovered many things, such as; different flags are used to communicate on board and that colors and symbols are very important.
It was interesting to learn, how different parts of the ship are named and what to do in case of danger. It was really exciting to wear a real life jacket.
The scale models of the ships were magical! They were equal to the originals but much smaller!
Arkas Art Center – Anatolian Travels
We put the Ottoman life on stage: sitting at the table like the Ottomans was very different, just as the food and objects.
Anatolia keeps its charm still now. It influences the modern world with its culture and history.
