ACTIVITIES & PROJECTS
Through a Zoom connection and thanks to Pizzeria Brandi in Naples, where the margherita pizza originated many years ago, we explored the history of this exquisite Italian dish. Together with our students, their parents, and the Consul of Italy in Izmir, Valerio Giorgio, we had a great time chatting and acting as pizza chefs!
Thanks to this exhibition, we had the opportunity to discover several Turkish painters who moved to France, especially to Paris, in the early 20th century to breathe in the “intellectual air” of this wonderful city and draw inspiration from it.
For M’illumino di Meno (literally translated as “I light up less” in English), the Italian National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, primary school children and their parents took part in fun classroom activities and reflected on current and important ecological issues.
We couldn’t miss the Christmas market at Kültürpark in Alsancak. Our booth was full of color, just like our handmade bookmarks, which we handed out to passers-by. In the photo with us is the Consul of Italy in Izmir, Valerio Giorgio.
Together with the parents of our students, we visited the Arkas Mattheys Mansion in Bornova — a fairytale journey through the culture and history of carpets.
For Libriamoci 2023, Reading Days in Schools, we visited the İzmir Kültür Sanat Fabrikası in Alsancak, a large and fascinating museum where we were able to see many interesting historical artifacts. Together with the five-year-olds from nursery school, our primary school students read The Wonderful World of Oz… Through reading, we are free to dream!
The students had the opportunity to closely admire the works of one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century, on his boundless journey through colors, shapes, and figures.
We participated to the International Day at the NATO base in İzmir. The Italian Consul in İzmir, Valerio Giorgio, and Cinzia Braggiotti, representative of the Arkas Foundation for Education and Culture, are with us in the photo.
