He is considered a national hero, the father of modern Turkey and creator and planner of the Turkish Linguistic Reformation. Thanks to the latter, a massive linguistic reorganization was carried out, through the simplification and purification of the language. Thanks to Atat\u00fcrk there was a massive process of Westernization that was also manifested in the adoption of the Latin alphabet instead of the Arabic and an increase of popular literacy rate.
